WEEE Directive or Directive 2002/96/CE aims to regulate the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), through the application of the principle of “extended producer responsibility”. This legislation sets recovery targets for different categories of electrical and electronic products, and involves, in some way, all the stakeholders throughout the life cycle of these devices: producers, distributors, consumers and waste managers.

RoHS Directive or Directive 2002/95/CE restricts the use of certain  hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This Directive aims to increase the protection of human health and make easier the proper recovery and disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
